Transformer Room Doors | Substation Doors

Blue Engineering manufactures premium steel transformer room doors and substation doors using the Swiss Jansen system. A wide range of industry standard sizes are available and custom sizes are welcome including the option of stainless steel doors. On request these doors can be equipped for emergency exit functions, fire protection and can also have security upgrades and the ability for access control.

Transformer Room Doors – Standard Series

Standard Features
• The frames and leaves are made from counter matching folded steel profiles 50mm wide and are supplied with door/s and frame.
• Double gaskets between the doors and the leaves
• Heavy duty adjustable diameter 20x180mm weld on hinges
• Standard locking is with a latch and bolt cylinder lock with lever handles
• Enclosed doors are fitted with 1.9/2.0mm insert sheets
• Louvre’s are steel “Z” profiles with mesh behind
• A full range of common/standard sizes and configurations are available
• Custom sizes and configurations can also be made and are welcome. Our specialty
• Available left or right handed. Please specify your requirement
• Standard is outward opening doors, inward opening doors are available on request

Transformer Room Doors – WA Series

The WA series features a complete “wrap around frame” and a threshold, this door offers full double gasket sealing on all 4 sides of the door/s. The enclosed doors are ideal for pressurised rooms.

Optional Sealing Upgrades
Standard series doors can be equipped with the following for sealing at the bottom of the door
• Weather strips and gaskets
• Automatic drop seals
These options are not required or available on the WA Series doors as they are already fully sealed.

Optional Emergency Exit Upgrades
Both the Standard Series and the WA Series doors can be equipped with Emergency Exit Gear
• Panic exit handles for areas with low traffic/personnel familiar with the procedure
• Full Emergency Exit Panic Push Bars
• Double doors can be fitted with a Single Emergency Exit Push Bar on the active door or Double Emergency Exit Push Bars on both the active and the passive door
• Emergency Exit Doors are required to be equipped with automatic closers which are flush mounted on our doors.

Optional Fire and Smoke Protection Upgrades
Both the Standard Series and the WA Series doors can be rated for Fire and Smoke Protection for a 120 minute Class C (E120) rating by being equipped with the following:
• Low flammability gaskets
• Flush Mount Automatic Closers
• Rebate/Security/Dog bolts for impact
• Multi point locks
• The doors can be clad on both sides and filled with insulation for a 120 minute Class D (EW120) rating
• The doors can also be fitted with fire rated glass for a 120 minute Class C E120 rating

Optional Security Upgrades
Both the Standard Series and the WA Series doors can be equipped with security features to enhance security:
• Multi Point Locking
• Flush Mount Automatic Closers
• Lock Cylinder Protection
• Anti Twist Cages for striker plates on double doors
• Rebate/Security/Dog Bolts
• Insert sheet can be upgraded to 3mm
• The door can also be made with heavier 60mm wide profiles for the leaf and frame
• Please note: Some security features are not compatible with emergency exit gear

Glazing Options
Both the Standard Series and the WA Series doors can be fitted with various types of glazing including fire rated glass instead of panels or louvers on request

Optional Access Control Upgrades
Both the Standard Series and the WA Series doors can be equipped with electric strikes for the locks to connect to access control equipment
